SUPERSTRUCTURES Welcomes 2024 Summer Interns

L to R: Aliza Syed, Uriel Alpin, Naina Cheniara, Ricardo Lugo III

Again this summer, we’re fortunate to have three new interns—and one “veteran”—joining our practice. These internships offer an introduction to our profession and to the art, science, and business of restoring New York City’s buildings and infrastructure.

For the third year, Uriel Alpin is an intern in our Practice Development studio. A rising second-year BArch student at the Spitzer School of Architecture of CCNY, he believes in our mission of renewal and restoration, preserving NYC’s rich architectural history while conserving resources and promoting energy efficiency.

Aliza Syed is an architectural intern. An international student from Karachi, Pakistan majoring in Architecture at NJIT, where she’ll be a fourth-year student this fall. She has a passion for historic buildings and loves sports like kickboxing, cricket, volleyball, and Taekwondo, for which she was a state champion in Pakistan.

Naina Cheniara is also an architectural intern. She’s currently an undergraduate student at Drexel University in Philadelphia and plans to complete her BArch by 2029 through the school’s 2+4 Co-Op program. “My goal to is improve the world around me through innovative and sustainable architectural design," she says.

Ricardo Lugo III has an architectural internship. An Architecture and Game Design student, his goals are to get as much experience with AutoCAD and investigation as possible. Ricardo’s hobbies include gaming, playing soccer, Dungeons & Dragons, and drawing cartoons.
