SUPERSTRUCTURES recently completed a roof replacement project for the Section O addition to Liggett Hall (Building 400) on Governors Island. The addition is a former barracks building constructed by the US Coast Guard (USCG) in 1967. The project for the Governors Island Trust included the complete replacement of the Georgian Revival-style building’s sloped and flat roofs, restoration of wood cornices and eaves, structural wood repairs, installation of a fall protection system, and rooftop mechanical equipment replacement.
We’ve contributed to the restoration of various structures on Governors Island, including previous roof work for houses on Nolan Park and non-destructive testing for Slip 7 at the Battery Maritime Building. We’re proud of our ongoing work to help revitalize a unique enclave of New York City.
