Lucy Moses Award for Restoration of "City's Greatest Architectural Achievement Prior to 1776" For the sixth consecutive year a project by SUPERSTRUCTURES received the Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy. The award was presented at a ceremony on April 28th in recognition of the exterior restoration of St. Paul's Chapel, an historic church in lower Manhattan which is part of Trinity Wall Street parish. The Lucy Moses Award is the Conservancy's highest honor for outstanding preservation.

SUPERSTRUCTURES Commissioning Project Wins Lucy G. Moses Award
The New York Landmarks Conservancy has recognized the Conrad B. Duberstein U.S. Bankruptcy Court project in Brooklyn, NY with the prestigious Lucy G. Moses Award for outstanding preservation efforts. The six-year, $61.7 million project included the replication of 16,000 terra cotta units, granite cladding restoration and replacement of slate roofs and gutters.

Vikrant Sampat, PE, was sworn in as president of The Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects (SIAEA) on May 9th, 2015, for a two-year term. The organization, which serves to unite engineers and architects of Indian origin and to foster their professional collaboration and growth, has over 1,000 members. Mr. Sampat was sworn in by India’s Deputy Consul General, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra.

Thousands of Terra Cotta Units Being Replaced at Bayside High
The restoration or replacement of terra cotta is often a key element of our exterior restoration projects for New York City’s historic buildings, including currently at Bayside High School in Queens. Given SUPERSTRUCTURES' extensive experience with terra cotta, we are all too familiar with ways in which improper fabrication or installation may give rise to problems with this generally sturdy material. At Bayside High School, we’ve employed a uniquely stringent inspection program, having the contractor lay out each of over 7,000 terra cotta units for our review before installation.

Innovative Solutions Employed at The Park Ten
This co-op on Manhattan’s Upper West Side used their required FISP (Local Law 11) façade assessment by SUPERSTRUCTURES as an opportunity to prevent future damage by correcting, stabilizing and refining the existing components of the façade system. The Park Ten is a handsome residential high-rise located between Central Park West and Lincoln Center. Its landscaped forecourt extends the greenery of the park to the entry portal to the building, where a colonnade with neoclassical travertine arches references the design of the nearby Metropolitan Opera and Avery Fisher Hall.
