This 17-story building, constructed nearly 100 years ago, is clad in limestone, terra cotta and brick masonry over a structural steel frame. The project involved an exterior restoration of limestone, terra cotta and brick masonry, and mortar, as well as a complete window replacement using structurally glazed casement units. Additionally, new limestone and terra cotta cornices replaced the originals that had been previously removed. The cornice design and reinstallation was particularly challenging. Extensive archival research helped facilitate the historic integrity of the design. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services. More recently the firm completed the Cycle 8 Local Law 11 FISP inspection.
