Built in 1950, Queensview is a complex of 14 buildings with 726 apartment units on a ten-acre landscaped site in Astoria, Queens. SUPERSTRUCTURES performed non-destructive testing to address water infiltration issues and conducted a restoration program for nine of the buildings in the complex. Restoration work included: removal and replacement of cracked masonry units; masonry repointing; installation of expansion joints in existing masonry construction; and mechanical anchorage of brick masonry to underlying structure. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services for this project.
