New York University, Washington Mews
New York, NY

Washington Mews is a private gated street just north of Washington Square Park. Originally developed as a mews, or row of stables, that serviced horses from homes in the area, New York University has converted the buildings to housing, offices, and other facilities. The current facade restoration project addresses 10 buildings on the south side of the Mews (numbers 1 through 12, excluding 7 and 8) and 9 on the north side (46 through 62). The project included repairing and painting stucco facades, with some repairs to masonry beneath the stucco and some lintel replacements. Windows and doors were also repaired as required.
