This Renaissance revival style church was constructed in 1878 under the direction of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. Designed with reference to traditional basilica plans, the building has a granite facade and features elaborate stained glass Tiffany windows. The perimeter walls are load bearing brick masonry atop which rises the wood framed roof structure finished with slate tiles.
