The Appellate Division Courthouse was designed by James Brown Lord circa 1900. Ten famous artists created murals for the main hall and courtroom depicting historical figures of justice. The surfaces of the murals were soiled and canvas was beginning to lose adhesion to the plaster substrate. SUPERSTRUCTURES performed an in-depth assessment of existing conditions updating an earlier survey. The firm prepared updated construction documents and specifications for the restoration of the significant murals. Treatment involved the cleaning of vertical staining from condensation and surface dirt and grime.
