SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services to restore the below-grade parking structure for the AmVerSev residential complex in Bayside, Queens. The parking facility is shared by three luxury cooperative buildings. The project’s scope included: replacement of waterproofing membranes and flashings at plaza slab expansion joints, roof penetrations, and other localized areas; replacement of expansion joint topping materials; replacement of waterproofing system, topping materials, and drains at garage entrance and pedestrian ramps; installation of injection waterproofing on garage foundation walls; replacement of plaza drains in kind; restoration of display fountains by replacement of waterproofing membrane and drains; and removal and reinstallation of existing curb stones. The project also included: restoration of existing lintels at localized areas by removal and replacement of brick masonry, reinstallation of stone masonry, installation of flashing and wall ties; restoration of brick masonry walls and copings around garage entrance ramp and installation of waterproofing on back-up walls and wall ties; replacement of cracked and/or spalled brick masonry units at localized areas; repair of cracked or spalled concrete on garage structure and slab-on-grade; and replacement of deteriorated traffic-resistant deck coating on garage floor at localized areas.
