This 27-story cooperative apartment building was designed by Harvey Wiley Corbett and constructed from 1927-1929. A New York City Landmark, the art deco building features a brick masonry facade, with terra cotta accents and a limestone-clad base. The program will address the integrity of the building's exterior walls, roofs and terraces. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration services for the project. The seemingly monochromatic building also underwent a complete facade cleaning that uncovered rich patterns of colorful brick including some that suggest a three-dimensional trompe l'oeil effect.
