Bucky’s solution sends a message: why follow convention when there’s a better path, though it may require more effort and initiative?

Why “Bucky?” We named him after fellow visionary, R. Buckminster Fuller. In Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth, Fuller offered this anecdote:

“If you are in a shipwreck and all the boats are gone, a piano top buoyant enough to keep you afloat that comes along makes a fortuitous life preserver. But this is not to say that the best way to design a life preserver is in the form of a piano top.”

In keeping with Fuller’s analogy—and Bucky’s example—SUPERSTRUCTURES strives to think outside the box (or above the maze), continually improving our tools, methods, and restoration solutions to benefit our clients and help advance the industry.

Part of our mission has been to drag the practice of exterior restoration into the 21st century (from the 19th, where it seems to reside). Our success in doing so has been the key to our preeminence in the field—and the reason that Bucky the hamster feels right at home with us.
