As the restoration Engineer / Architect for the Consolidated Edison (ConEd) headquarters building, we’re honored to be recipients of the 2022 Project of the Year Award from the NY Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI).
The project entailed investigation, design, and construction administration services to restore the building’s limestone, granite, brick masonry, stucco, copper, and bronze facade.
The project was a success thanks to ConEd, our enlightened client, and the contractor, Pullman SST, Inc. who executed the design. Additional thanks to Pullman for preparing and submitting the nomination for the award.
A New York City Landmark, the ConEd Building at 4 Irving Place was designed by Henry J. Hardenbergh in 1911, with later additions by Hardenbergh and Warren & Wetmore; the contractor was the George A. Fuller Company. Additional thanks to these architects and craftsmen for providing the inspired, original “canvas” for this award-winning project.
SUPERSTRUCTURES doesn’t set out to win awards. We focus on the client and the project—maybe that’s why we win awards.
