Local Law 126 of 2021 (Parking Structures)

This law mandates periodic assessment of all parking structures within the five boroughs of New York City every six years to ensure they’re maintained in a safe condition. Parking structures must be examined by a Qualified Parking Structure Inspector (QPSI), and a report filed with the DOB. Local Law 126 comprises a section of the NYC Administrative Code (1 RCNY 103-13) fleshed out in a rule promulgated by the DOB.

Local Law 11 of 1998 (Facades)

Also known as the Facade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP), this law addresses the condition of buildings’ exterior walls. Every five years, facades of all NYC buildings over six stories must be examined by a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI), and a report filed with the DOB. SUPERSTRUCTURES has been performing mandated exterior wall inspections for many of NYC’s most prominent buildings since the inception of the law in 1980. Local Law 11 comprises a section of the NYC Administrative Code (1 RCNY 103-04) fleshed out in a rule promulgated by the DOB.

Local Law 37 of 2008 (Retaining Walls)

Similar to FISP, retaining walls must be inspected and required maintenance performed every five years. All retaining walls in New York City that are at least ten feet tall and face a public right-of-way are subject to the Local Law 37 mandate.
