P.S. 254—the Rosa Parks School—is a four-story facility built in 2004. The NYC SCA retained SUPERSTRUCTURES to address deficiencies in the building, including water infiltration related to the roofs, exterior masonry at relieving angles, parapets, and site retaining walls. The restoration program to remediate these deficiencies included: complete replacement of all roofing systems with built-up, three-ply sheets with an SBS modified bituminous cap sheet; roof access and railing improvements; repairs to water-damaged interiors; masonry control joint repairs; face brick repairs and repointing above and below relieving angles; masonry anchor replacement; masonry corner crack repairs; glass block repair or replacement; replacement of masonry parapets; cast-stone coping replacement; repair of cracks and spalls in masonry retaining walls; and concrete retaining wall repairs.
