This ferry terminal on the Hudson River is a steel floating dock structure with a tensile fabric roof system. SUPERSTRUCTURES conducted an investigation of the terminal’s condition and provided recommendations to remediate issues related to corrosion, plaza deck deterioration, missing or damaged safety features, flooded compartments, bird infestation, and snow infiltration. The project included assessment of architectural, structural, MEP, and electronic aspects of the facility. Our proposal included options for enclosed passenger waiting areas to improve year-round function and modifications to the existing walls and roof system to discourage bird roosting.
