Kissena II is a 19-story, 289-unit, Mitchell-Lama apartment building that was developed by Selfhelp Community Services and began accepting tenants in 1970. The façade consists of a cast-in-place concrete frame and brick infill panels. Prominent features of the building include cantilevered balconies and mechanical penthouse constructed of cast in place concrete. By 2002, the concrete elements, brick panels and sealant joints began to experience deterioration. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, design, and construction administration for the façade and concrete repairs.
