The City of New York is investing over $260 million in Governors Island's infrastructure to make it a recreational, cultural, and educational magnet. SUPERSTRUCTURES' role on the island was to address the rehabilitation of roofs and wooden porches on 23 stately 19th century brick and wood-framed former officers quarters located in the Nolan Park and Colonels Row sections of the island's historic district. Once the buildings were stabilized and weather proofed they were offered for adaptive re-use by the Trust for Governors Island. SUPERSTRUCTURES provided investigation, construction documentation, and construction administration services. Management: Turner Construction.
